Cast Our Eyes Upward
“God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.” Exodus 3:14
Lord, if only we would cast our eyes upward to seek the giver of strength when our weakness becomes apparent. If only we would take the time to listen for that “whisper in the wind” that draws us to that place of solitude, and if only we would allow our eyes to gaze upon the beauty of glory, not formed by human hands.
Then we would find the help that transcends the understanding of man, calms our fears and clothes our mind in peace; filling our souls with an unexplainable joy even in the midst of the most dire of circumstances.
Then we would know the One who binds up our wounds and heals our broken hearts, and supplies our every need; the One who is able to keep us from falling and will do exceedingly more than we could ever ask or imagine.
If only we would cast our eyes upward.
We would soon discover He who is the great I AM.
