To Know Him

To Know Him

“The righteousness of your testimonies is everlasting; Give me understanding and I shall live.  My heart stands in awe of your word, I rejoice at your word as one who finds great treasure.   Let your hand become my help, for I have chosen your precepts.”  Psalm 119:144, 161, 162, 173

To know Him is to know He is closest to the brokenhearted

 And those crushed in spirit

To know Him is to know weeping may endure for a night

But joy comes in the morning

To know Him is to know He knows how much we can bear in this life,

For there is not a circumstance to which He is unfamiliar

To know Him is to know He is gracious and full of compassion

To know Him is to know He is slow to anger and abounding in love

To know Him is to know that while outwardly we are wasting away

Inwardly His strength renews us day by day!

Bridging the Gap

“Sustain me according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed. Uphold me and I will be delivered.”  Psalm 119:116-117a

Most of us, at some point in life have experience a life changing event that altered our course. Perhaps it was the untimely passing of a loved one, a financial crisis, the end of a relationship or a decline in our health. Whatever the occurrence suddenly our normal was not normal anymore. 

It is often during such times that many of us become despondent, for the trials before us simply become more than we can bear.   Do not lose heart, for none of us will remain untouched by the hands of trouble and hardship.  Eventually the travails of this life will be visited upon us all.

For those who hope in the Lord, be not dismayed.  We need only to call upon Jesus who is able to “bridge the gap” of our troubles and carry the heavy burdens we can no longer bear. He will surround us in his perfect peace and calm the raging waters of fear, anxiety, discouragement, and life’s disappointments that will far exceeds our ability to comprehend.  The supernatural power of God at work!  Restoring that which we have counted as lost and thereby enabling us to bear witness before men unto the power of his presence in our lives. 

“I will praise you, O’ Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.  For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave.”  Psalm 86:12-13.

I Shall Wait

I Shall Wait

“But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Lord, I sit here in obscurity eagerly awaiting the movement of your hand to direct and guide my path.  For I know there is something embedded within my soul so profound, that even I am at a loss of words to describe it. 

Define my purpose O’ Lord according to your perfect plan and keep me in the center of your will, for only you know the span of my days.  As I continue to wait upon you Lord, grant me your wisdom and bridle my tongue to speak only as your Spirit gives utterance. For my heart is ripe and ready to receive.   

Though my strength weans, I will wait. Though the storms form around me, I will wait. When I am forsaken by all others, I will wait. When I feel I am all alone, I will wait. For one day you will answer at your appointed time.   Until then, I will continue to serve you O’ Lord with my whole heart looking forward to that day I shall inherit the everlasting promises destined for those who trust and wait upon you!

An Overflow Within

O’ Lord, my heart has been humbled by your awesomeness as I reflect upon the grace and mercy thou have shown me.  Words cannot express the praise due your name for it far exceeds my ability to speak.

So I ask O’ Lord that you visit my heart for there it shall reveal the depth of my soul and the thanksgivings and praises overflowing from within. 

I love thee O’ Lord for thou art my strength and my help.  You extended your healing hands towards me affirming your greater purpose for my life.

You safeguarded my mind and renewed my spirit, that I may continue praising your name.  Who but you O’ Lord could have performed such a miracle?  It surpasses all human reasoning.

 “Yes,” you can calm the storms in our lives and carry us in times of despair, for we walk not alone.  Be Exalted my God!  Above all the earth, for there is none like you!  With the time thou have given, I shall continue to offer unto thee “Thanksgivings and Praises” overflowing from within.

The Event – From recording the grand finale of the 4th of July Fireworks and wishing her husband “Happy Birthday” to Critical Condition just a few hours later. This is a Message of Hope in dire situations, for what is impossible with man is possible with God. “Hold On God is in Control!”

The Quiet Place

The Quiet Place

“But I call to God, and the LORD saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.”  Psalm 55:16-17, 22

O’ Lord, today we find ourselves pressed on all sides trying to maneuver through the complexities of the times at hand.  We are so overwhelmed that there seems little time to pause and reflect upon the days thou have granted.  Our lives continue to flash before us at a chaotic pace from instruments crafted by our own hands.

We have fooled ourselves into thinking somehow we are better off.  But, what have been gained from our toils?  What is the measure of our lot?  For in our quest to achieve, we have abandoned those things that matter most– those attributes that once made us whole.  We have erred greatly. O’ how we need thee!

Have mercy upon us Lord and let your grace abound.  Help us find our way back to you that we might once again sojourn to that “quiet place.”  Where we sup together as in the days of old and the aroma of your Holy Spirit fills the atmosphere. That place of refuge where we can cast our cares upon you and lay our burdens down at your feet. That place of penitence and forgiveness, O’ Lord, where the human spirit can be rekindled and an unblemished love still abounds.
